Hannah a black woman about 35 yrs., an old
Sam (son of Hannah, above) an apprenticed Tanner, about 18 or 19 yrs. old “Black” 
Jim a blacksmith about 30 yrs. old “black” 
Rose a yellow girl about 14 yrs. old

Premises & $1.00, 9 negro slaves. Viz. Jinny a black woman about 35 yrs. old, Vincent a
boy about 15 yrs. old, Charoltte a girl about 10 yrs. old, Lucy a girl about 8 yrs. old, and
Sally about 6 yrs. old, all black, Hannah a black woman about 35 yrs. old, and her son
Sam an apprenticed Tanner, about 18 or 19 yrs. old, “Black” Jim a blacksmith about 30
yrs. old, “black” Rose a yellow girl about 14 yrs. old, with express provisions that all the
annual cotton crop shall be conveyed to R. Sebbins & Co. of Mobile, Ala., and the
proceeds from this sale shall apply as payment on the following indebtedness of said
Kelly. Whereas James Kelly being indebted to said Ferguson & Ogden as evidenced by
several notes Viz. 1 for $1210.69, another for $1300.38, another $1390.06, another for 1
$1479.73, in total sum of $5380.86, being willing to secure payment, executes this
mortgage. Wit: B.E. Grace, Dated March 20, 1835. Ack before B.E. Grace, Clk. C.C.
