Enslaved person: negro slave named Ben

Premises. 1 negro slave named Ben. Whereas said Goyne, is indebted to said Roebuck in the sum of $260.00 as evidenced by note. Being willing to secure payment executes this mortgage. Demsey Jordan, having had possession of said Ben, for sometime, which might be implied that he onwed said Ben, at this time relinquishes all rights as far as he is concerned & sanctions the provisions herein contained.
